City Fund Manager, Laurence Hulse, cycles 500km for Cancer Research UK

Laurence Hulse cycled 500km for Cancer Research UK

Tudor Lodge partner Laurence Hulse, of Gresham House Asset Management, raised over £1500 for cancer research UK in September 2020

The 500km ride took place on the Algrave Coast in Portugal last September, and Hulse raised nearly 160% more than the original target of £1000.

Hulse's chosen charity was Cancer Research UK to provide much-needed funds for their life-saving research and help to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

The funds raised through the cycle will help Cancer Research UK improve survival rates even further, which have doubled in the last 40 years.

Laurence stated he would "cycle and pedal harder than ever before" for the important cause.

To reach 100km?

The donations which exceeded Laurence's original target by 160% came from a mix of family, friends and colleagues at Gresham House Asset Management.

The timing of these donations was particularly prominent, allowing Laurence to donate much-needed funds to a charity close to his heart, Cancer Research UK. It comes at time where charities are struggling with funding due to pressures resulting from the impact of COVID-19 and lockdown on fundraising opportunities and donations.

Due to the success of the fundraising, Laurence has since added that she is going to train for a 100km ride in 2021, which will most likely take place in the UK due to travel restrictions.

This new challenge will hopefully bring even greater funds to the charity, and support its progress through the pandemic too.
